Guernsey has earned a reputation as a premiere venue for International Powerboat Racing

The Island of Guernsey is proud to announce that with the sanction of the Union International Motonautique (UIM) and the Royal Yachting Association (RYA), the Class 3A, 3B World Championships and the V24 European Championship will take place in September. The Championships will run from the 4th to 10th of September 2017. The centre of operations will be at the prestigious Guernsey Yacht Club, situated on the Castle Emplacement overlooking the lovely harbour of Guernsey’s capital, St Peter Port and its neighbouring islands. For many years the Island of Guernsey has earned a reputation as a premiere venue for International Powerboat Racing. The tidal waters, both sheltered and exposed, form a natural amphitheatre for racing between the smaller islands of Herm, Sark and Jethou. Challenging race conditions coupled with first class safety cover, combined with great hospitality, have tempted racers, teams and spectators to come here over many years.

GREAT THINGS HAPPEN in GUERNSEY

#GREATTHINGS

The Bailiwick of Guernsey may be small, but it thinks big. And it dreams big.

We are home to Britain's cleanest beach, Vazon Bay on the island's west coast, and the world's smallest chapel, the Little Chapel.

Our capital St Peter Port is said to be the prettiest harbour town in Europe and RHS Britain in Bloom 2014 winner of best coastal town.

Then there's our south coast cliffs, which are a walker's paradise.

The best way to explore the island on foot is to take a Tasty Walk, a series of 15 self-guided walks that each have interactive maps to follow and audio guides. As well as guiding you carefully around our coastlines and cliff paths, we help you search out some of our best restaurants and cafes, kiosks and pubs along the way.

We are a proud archipelago with our sister islands of Alderney, Sark and Herm just a short boat or flight away. Each has its own unique story to tell from the wildlife haven of Alderney to the breath-taking views around the Sark coastline and the unspoilt beaches of Herm Island.

The islands are a food lovers paradise with some of the freshest seafood in British waters, from catch to plate in just a few hours.

And the best way to find out more?

Come and discover it all for yourself.
